Christopher Jay Herbert has been a photographer since his early teens, guided by a dear uncle who loved Alpa and Leica and Rollei cameras. Chris launched The Insight Group Incorporated – an independent market and public opinion research consulting practice – in 1989 and has traveled widely conducting focus groups and interviews on a broad range of topics for a diverse group of clients. Chris has also conducted research-oriented communications training in Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Sweden. Leica cameras accompany Chris on his travels, recording both the everyday what and when and where and whom... but also the unexpected. In addition to photography, Chris’ interests include coffee roasting, cooking, music, off-roading (particularly in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona), and the Nobel laureate Samuel Beckett and the Beckett Letters Project at Emory University, which published The Letters of Samuel Beckett (4 volumes, 2009-2016, Cambridge University Press) and developed The Interactive Index to the Letters of Samuel Beckett in Public Archives (Chercher) that puts 30+ years of scholarship regarding Beckett's correspondence online.
